If you have ever wondered ‘are there any community choirs near me?’ then the answer is firmly yes!

Your friendly local Yate choir is run by vocal teacher Alex Hawker. You’ve probably heard of our unique sellout O2 arena event in 2013 and our secret singing flash mobs around country for Comic Relief (just search ‘Great British flash mob’ on YouTube!), but at Rock Choir we know it’s not just about the unique huge events, it’s about our choir members singing in the community. Join your local Yate Rock Choir to become part of this ‘national phenomenon’ (as described in the Sunday Times) and discover a whole new world of opportunities to sing in Yate and meet people.

**STOP PRESS** Rock Choir, the largest contemporary choir in the world is set to release their brand-new single ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ on Friday 21st March. The single features the Founder of Rock Choir, Caroline Redman Lusher along with the voices of over 6000 Rock Choir Members.

The single will be performed for the first time on national TV on the day of release and broadcast to the entire nation on BBC1 as part of the Comic Relief ‘Red Nose Day’ show. This will be the biggest choir performance the show has ever hosted and will be an emotional and poignant moment with a few surprises thrown in!

The track, which was originally performed by Keane was recorded over several months when it was performed by Rock Choir Members in the audience of a recent sold-out theatre tour which toured across the UK in 2024 led by Caroline and The Rock Choir Vocal Group. The audience became part of the show and enjoyed a fully interactive singing concert experience.
