If you have ever wondered ‘are there any community choirs near me?’ then the answer is firmly yes!
Your friendly local Gravesend choir is run by vocal tutor Paul Gostling. Our No.1 Album gave ordinary people the chance to become chart-topping singers, and Rock Choir is continually giving our members bigger and better opportunities to achieve things they never thought they could do – from supporting national charities like Comic Relief, Missing People and Refuge to singing at the UK’s top performing arts venues such as Birmingham Symphony Hall. But through all this excitement, we never lose track of our local community roots. Visit this link https://rockchoir.com/events-and-performances-near-you to see more about our activities in Kent.
Every week local people like you attend group rehearsals and learn pop, rock, Motown and every now and again a ‘pop gospel’ song. Like the sound of that? You can book a FREE taster session for yourself (and a maybe a friend!) to experience the easy going atmosphere and expert vocal tuition. Go to https://www.rockchoir.com/join to book you own FREE singing session to get a taste of singing in the choir.
Here is a quote about our choir – ‘Rock Choir and the people in it have made me feel Happy, Energised, Accepted, Confident, Supported and Liked. It has also re-kindled my love of music and singing.’ – Fe (Rock Choir member)
Rock Choir is a winner of the Red Ribbon ‘Big Heart’ Award. and holds 1 former and 2 current Guinness World Records. The choir is also credited with single handedly starting the contemporary choir movement.
**STOP PRESS** Rock Choir, the largest contemporary choir in the world is set to release their brand-new single ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ on Friday 21st March. The single features the Founder of Rock Choir, Caroline Redman Lusher along with the voices of over 6000 Rock Choir Members.
The single will be performed for the first time on national TV on the day of release and broadcast to the entire nation on BBC1 as part of the Comic Relief ‘Red Nose Day’ show. This will be the biggest choir performance the show has ever hosted and will be an emotional and poignant moment with a few surprises thrown in!
The track, which was originally performed by Keane was recorded over several months when it was performed by Rock Choir Members in the audience of a recent sold-out theatre tour which toured across the UK in 2024 led by Caroline and The Rock Choir Vocal Group. The audience became part of the show and enjoyed a fully interactive singing concert experience.
