What type of choir are we?

We sing a repertoire from various music genres . We do not ask that you read music.

Who are we for?

We are an adult female choir.

Where do we rehearse?

Bloomsbury Baptist Church, 235 Shaftesbury Avenue, London WC2H 8EP

When do we rehearse?

Tuesday, 7.00 – 9.00 pm

Do we ask you to audition?

Yes. We do ask you to audition.

Are we a competitive choir?

No. We do not enter choral competitions.

What about concerts & performances?

Yes. We do perform live. 2 per year. June and December. Concerts are generally ticketed.

How many members are in the choir?

We have 45 members in the choir.

Other info and how to join?

We are led by Katherine Hare. The City Academy Songbirds are a female only singing group. The choir is open to women with any voice type who have at least some previous group singing experience. The choir is not suitable for absolute beginners. If you do not have the experience required, we recommend you complete a Beginners Singing and Level 2 Singing course before progressing to the choir.
