Ever wondered if there is a ‘local ladies choir near me or nearby’?

Your friendly local Durham choir is run by singer/pianist Rob Slater. We have a great year lined up and we would like to invite you to join our choir and take part in the local Durham and wider County Durham community. We are part of the pioneering Rock Choir singing groups. We often team up with the other local County Durham choirs to perform live in larger groups. These inspirational moments are unique to the Rock Choir experience. It’s unbelievable and you can still join the choir.

You’ve probably heard us singing in and around County Durham, or seen one of our many TV appearances, and never thought you’d have to courage to get up on stage and sing! But the unique teaching methods at the Durham Rock Choir, along with no need to audition or read music, mean that we are accessible to all. Come along and try us out for FREE at a taster session, and experience singing with your local ‘exceptional’ Rock Choir for yourself.

Rock Choir is a winner of the Red Ribbon ‘Big Heart’ Award. and holds 1 former and 2 current Guinness World Records. The choir is also credited with single handedly starting the contemporary choir movement.

**STOP PRESS** Rock Choir, the largest contemporary choir in the world is set to release their brand-new single ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ on Friday 21st March. The single features the Founder of Rock Choir, Caroline Redman Lusher along with the voices of over 6000 Rock Choir Members.

The single will be performed for the first time on national TV on the day of release and broadcast to the entire nation on BBC1 as part of the Comic Relief ‘Red Nose Day’ show. This will be the biggest choir performance the show has ever hosted and will be an emotional and poignant moment with a few surprises thrown in!

The track, which was originally performed by Keane was recorded over several months when it was performed by Rock Choir Members in the audience of a recent sold-out theatre tour which toured across the UK in 2024 led by Caroline and The Rock Choir Vocal Group. The audience became part of the show and enjoyed a fully interactive singing concert experience.
