If you have ever wondered ‘are there any community choirs near me?’ then the answer is firmly yes!

The Newton Abbot Rock Choir is led by Devon based musician and teacher Richard Toomer. We have a great year lined up and we would like to invite you to join our choir and take part in the local Newton Abbot and wider Devon community. We are part of the pioneering Rock Choir singing groups. We often team up with the other local Devon choirs to appear in groups of any size, 100, 500 and even and even 12,000 at the O2 arena in Summer 2013. These inspirational moments are unique to the Rock Choir experience. It’s unbelievable and you can still join the choir.

Rock Choir offers the chance to sing pop, rock and Motown songs together in a comfortable, unauditioned way. There are 10+ rehearsals a term and any commitment you make fit easily around the main holiday times in the year. **STOP PRESS** Rock Choir, the largest contemporary choir in the world is set to release their brand-new single ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ on Friday 21st March. The single features the Founder of Rock Choir, Caroline Redman Lusher along with the voices of over 6000 Rock Choir Members.

The single will be performed for the first time on national TV on the day of release and broadcast to the entire nation on BBC1 as part of the Comic Relief ‘Red Nose Day’ show. This will be the biggest choir performance the show has ever hosted and will be an emotional and poignant moment with a few surprises thrown in!

The track, which was originally performed by Keane was recorded over several months when it was performed by Rock Choir Members in the audience of a recent sold-out theatre tour which toured across the UK in 2024 led by Caroline and The Rock Choir Vocal Group. The audience became part of the show and enjoyed a fully interactive singing concert experience.
