Barnsley Youth Choir

What type of choir are we?

We have a repertoire from various music genres . We do not ask that you read music.

Who are we for?

We are a mixed age range mixed gender choir.

Where do we rehearse?

When do we rehearse?

Thursday evenings. Children’s Choir 6.00-8.00pm, Youth Training Choir 6.00-8.00pm, Youth Senior Choir 7.00-9.00pm.

Do we ask you to Audition?

Yes

Are we a competitive choir?

Yes. We do enter choral competitions.

What about concerts?

Yes. We do perform concerts. Usually around 6 performances a year.. We have performed in large national venues such as the Olympic Stadium, Stratford Circus, Bridgewater Hall. In Barnsley we perform at Horzion Community College and Emmanuel Church. Both Venues hold 400 and all concerts during the last 4 years have been sold out. We perform with a number of international choirs. Also in International Competitions..

How many members are in the choir?

We have 260 members in the choir.
